Administrative Assistant II – Job Placement Specialist

The Administrative Assistant II – Job Placement Specialist supports individuals in obtaining competitive employment by coordinating job placement activities and developing employer relationships.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with businesses, Workforce Oklahoma, and state and local entities to support employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities
Research labor market data, employment trends, and economic indicators to identify viable job leads
Provide current employment leads to counselors and individuals seeking employment
Evaluate individual work skills and assist in developing employment plans aligned with vocational goals
Coordinate and support job placement activities, including on-the-job training (OJT) and supported employment
Maintain accurate case notes documenting individual progress and employment outcomes
Prepare reports related to vocational training, employment progress, and required documentation
Assist with placing individuals into employment that aligns with identified goals
Coordinate and deliver job readiness services such as resume writing, interview preparation, job search workshops, and career counseling
Conduct job evaluations and task analyses to support successful job placements
Work with employers and agencies to identify job vacancies, address barriers to employment, and support workplace integration
Market agency services and provide outreach, education, and training to employers, community organizations, and the public
Monitor and evaluate progress of individuals who secure employment
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree AND one (1) year of experience providing job placement services in the public or private sector
An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one (1) additional year of qualifying experience for each year of the required bachelor's degree
Knowledge of basic vocational guidance principles and job placement techniques
Familiarity with community resources that support employment for individuals with disabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with employers and community partners
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to maintain accurate case notes and prepare professional reports
Ability to work under close supervision in a training and development environment
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays
Ability to work beyond an eight (8) hour day as needed
Ability to sit, stand, and travel for extended periods
