Postdoctoral Researcher - Pediatric Cardiology

Responsibilities

Plan, design and execute complex research studies, procedures and protocols in accordance with institutional approvals and laboratory safety protocols
Participate in discovery projects
Coordinate research study activities; lead and manage projects
Oversee organization, synthesis and analysis of data and findings
Prepare scientific reports, outcome findings and scientific manuscripts
Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff in which you will evaluate/interpret the validity of data, develop methodologies, and design and evaluate lab procedures
May oversee the work of laboratory personnel including training and development as well as daily work direction, delegation and establishing priorities
Other duties as assigned

Required

PhD in a scientific field or MD
Two or more years of related experience and a track-record of research dissemination through peer-reviewed journal publications
CITI training within 5 days of hire
Knowledge or fluid and solid mechanics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and statistics
Documentation, records management, and data utilization
Complex problem solving and critical thinking
Resource management and writing skills
Sufficient knowledge of program study area
Strong sense of initiative, passion for the research area
Ability to complete tasks requiring independent judgment
Function successfully in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration
Demonstrate excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills
Proficiency with computer aided design and computational modeling software packages (e.g.; SolidWorks, Ansys, Abaqus, Fluent, SimVascular, etc)

Preferred

Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Familiarity in the use of medical imaging data and computational modeling approaches such as computational fluid dynamics and/or fluid structure interaction simulations
