Responsibilities

Establish, own, and continuously refine Concrete Strategies’ scheduling strategy, standards, and governance framework across all regions and the National Business Unit (NBU)
Serve as the senior authority for all schedule-related decisions, including milestone commitments, recovery strategies, and escalation of schedule risks
Define clear expectations for schedule quality, accuracy, update frequency, and forecasting across all projects
Provide executive oversight of baseline schedule development, ensuring schedules are realistic, contract-compliant, and aligned with operational execution plans
Approve and govern key project milestones, including validation of milestone feasibility prior to client commitment
Partner with the COO, Operations leadership, and Project Directors to integrate scheduling into business planning, staffing strategies, and project execution decisions
Lead portfolio-level schedule performance reviews to identify trends, systemic risks, and opportunities for improvement
Establish early-warning indicators for schedule risk and ensure proactive mitigation strategies are implemented
Direct recovery planning for projects at risk of missing critical milestones, including prioritization of resources and executive escalation as required
Oversee schedule impact evaluations related to scope changes, client directives, delays, and claims, ensuring consistency and defensibility
Provide executive guidance on time impact analysis, schedule entitlement, and contract-driven schedule requirements
Ensure consistent application of scheduling tools, methodologies, and reporting dashboards across all regions
Develop and maintain executive-level schedule reporting that clearly communicates project health, risks, and forecasted outcomes
Serve as the primary escalation point for schedule disputes, conflicts, or misalignment between project teams and operations
Support client-facing schedule discussions when executive leadership involvement is required, particularly for milestone commitments and recovery plans
Align schedule planning with safety leadership to ensure work sequencing supports safe execution and risk reduction
Lead, mentor, and develop Schedule Managers and Scheduling Specialists, including performance expectations, professional development, and succession planning
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Schedule Management function to improve predictability, accountability, and operational outcomes

Required

Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with significant exposure to self-perform construction operations; concrete construction experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated expertise in project scheduling, schedule control, and critical path method (CPM) scheduling on large-scale, complex construction projects
Advanced proficiency with industry-standard scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent), including schedule development, maintenance, analysis, and recovery planning
Proven ability to function in a dual capacity as both a hands-on Schedule Manager and the Director of Schedule Management, providing strategic oversight while actively supporting project teams as needed
Strong understanding of field operations, production sequencing, resource loading, and schedule impacts specific to self-performed trade work
Ability to lead, mentor, and develop scheduling staff while establishing consistent scheduling standards, best practices, and governance across projects
Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to interface effectively with executive leadership, operations, project management teams, and field leadership
