Responsibilities

Leadership, passion, and mindset for driving safety, health, and well-being culture, value of risk identification and avoidance, continuous improvement, value of tools and work processes, industry standards, and vision of construction strategies that deliver overall project execution and safety performance
Collaborate closely with PDO functional electrical engineering, instrument and controls engineering, and operations teams, along with 3rd party customers on integrated and advanced electrical / instrument commissioning engineering, design and planning
Provide direct electrical engineering support for projects actively in electrical commissioning and startup, assisting field Q-EC electrical technicians with relay programming, motor starting, electrical equipment issues, evaluation of electrical test results, interpretation of installation drawings, standards & codes, electrical safety standards & codes, and acceptance testing standards & codes
Provide instrument and controls guidance on installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting instrumented systems, following the Air Products standards and work processes
Ability to implement electrical and instrumentation construction and commissioning best work processes and work with 3rd party vendors to support resource demands
Develop electrical construction packages and E&I contracting strategies
Assist with the managing, training, and mentoring of the Air Products’ qualified electrical commissioning (Q-EC) competency program
Assist in managing, training, and mentoring Air Products instrument technicians through the instrument technician competency program
Coordinate FATs, equipment acceptance testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, energization, and functional testing procedures with vendors of new electrical equipment (i.e. LCI drives, high-voltage VFDs, H2 electrolyzers, partial discharge equipment, etc.)
Experience with high-voltage energy isolations (HVEIC) as author, reviewer, person executing the isolation & performing switching, as well as removal of isolations
Coordinate FAT’s for process interface buildings (PIB’s) and analyzer buildings

Required

Minimum of 15 years (total) of electrical field, design, and engineering experience
An Electrical Engineering degree is required
Proven experience with electrical construction management, electrical acceptance testing, electrical commissioning & functional testing, and equipment energization
Familiar with instrument construction management, instrument acceptance testing (loop checking), instrument and controls commissioning, functional testing, and validation, and equipment energization
Proven record of success in safety, environmental, quality and employee involvement
Demonstrated strong commitment to employee involvement, leadership, team building and diversity
Approx. 35-60% travel to active sites, projects, and equipment inspections/FATs
