ST CREL Student Marketing & Communications Assistant

Illinois College is seeking a creative and motivated student leader for the role of CREL Marketing & Communications Assistant. This position involves developing and executing marketing materials and communication strategies to promote career readiness and experiential learning initiatives on campus.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Create impactful graphics, flyers, digital content, and promotional materials tailored to CREL’s diverse programs and initiatives
Design and produce marketing materials for events, workshops, experiential learning opportunities, and campus-wide outreach
Design and assist with CREL-branded merchandise as needed
Maintain and creatively utilize CREL’s office mascot, Captain Cappy, across marketing materials, social media, stickers, and promotional content
Manage CREL’s social media platforms (currently Instagram and Facebook), with opportunities to explore additional platforms based on student needs and engagement trends
Develop, maintain, and adjust a semester-long content calendar with flexibility for weekly updates as needed
Track analytics and engagement metrics to inform content strategy and continuous improvement
Collaborate with CREL staff to gather content ideas, promote programs, and ensure messaging aligns with office goals
Assist with distributing flyers, tabling, and event promotion across campus as needed
Develop and lead an ongoing marketing or communications project that supports CREL’s visibility and outreach across campus
Support other CREL initiatives and office needs as assigned

Required

A desire to be a role model and live out the ideals of a quality liberal arts education: a commitment to excellence, integrity, communication, acceptance, and shared responsibility for the success of Illinois College
Must be currently enrolled full-time, have completed at least one semester of coursework at IC, and not graduating in Spring 2026
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.30
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Initiative, creativity, integrity, and responsibility
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Willingness to take ownership of projects and grow professionally

Preferred

Experience with design and marketing tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, Photoshop, or similar platforms
Interest or background in marketing, art/visual design, communication, or related fields
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital engagement strategies
Basic understanding of branding, visual storytelling, or content strategy
