Education Technology Analyst
The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation is seeking an Education Technology Analyst to serve as a technical resource for educational programs. The role involves monitoring data, managing technology devices, and supporting educational initiatives within the department.

Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze data for Restrictive Housing Units and education programs
Research, analyze, recommend, monitor and track solutions for educational technology requirements
Prepare and submit various written reports for the institution and Office of Correctional Education
Manage laptop inventory including distribution and collection of devices to/from students
Maintain and update laptop tracking mechanisms and databases
Interact with local IT by submitting remedy tickets for laptop issues
Track and analyze student laptop use including network connectivity and potential misuse
Prepare regular reports regarding laptop use
Manage student identities and provide basic laptop support
Gather incident information and monitor service tickets
Assist with college enrollment and track enrollment documentation from students
Prepare written reports or communications relating to post-secondary enrollment and student performance
Identify gaps faced by students and respond to questions about post-secondary programs
Qualification
Required
Under the general direction of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs or designee, the Analyst II functions as a recognized technical resource
Analyst II performs the more responsible, analytical and complex technical work in the monitoring and data analysis of the Restrictive Housing Units and education programs
This position also handles technical devices and network projects
An Analyst II will be asked to research, analyze, recommend, monitor and track solutions to complex requests regarding the educational technology requirements in the education department and other education programs
This position requires that an Analyst II prepares and submits various written reports for the institution, Office of Correctional Education and the executive cabinet as needed
The Analyst II is dedicated to supporting educational technology and Education through effective communication, ability to work with all stakeholders and facilitate the dissemination of technology materials
Manage laptop inventory in real time, including distribution and collection of devices to/from students using data analysis to understand student location, enrollment, and need
Maintain and update laptop tracking mechanisms and databases as they exist or may develop
Interact with local IT by submitting remedy tickets to prepare newly arrived laptops, rejoin laptops that are no longer on the domain, and survey out inoperable laptops at end of life
Track and analyze student laptop use including network connectivity, system updates and potential tampering or misuse
Prepare regular reports for SAI or designee regarding laptop use
Manage student identities and provide basic laptop support such as password resetting
Gather incident information, submit, and monitor service tickets
Enable, provision, and disable student identities in IIQ/SailPoint
Assist the SAI or designee with college enrollment, review and analyze rosters and data from college partners, distribute and track enrollment documentation from students, and ensure that databases as they exist or may exist are continuously accurate
Assist the SAI or designee in preparing written reports or other communications relating to post-secondary enrollment and student performance
The Analyst II will be competent on and active in both Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS), Student Information System (SIS), and the Canvas Learning Management System
Work with PSCE teacher and/or SAI to identify gaps faced by students, use effective written and verbal communication to respond to questions about post-secondary programs, monitor and coordinate the processes in the post-secondary MOU/IAA/contracts, other duties as assigned
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you should include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification
Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position
Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board
Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency
Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter
