Director of Accounting - Publicly Traded Global AI Tech Company - 100% Remote
PCG Talent Network is representing a publicly traded global AI company seeking a Director of Accounting to lead global accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The role involves overseeing the financial close process, enhancing internal controls, and driving scalable accounting processes in a high-growth public SaaS/AI environment.
Responsibilities
Lead global accounting operations, including GL, transactional, intercompany, lease accounting, and consolidations
Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; manage calendars, deadlines, and deliverables
Ensure accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
Serve as an escalation point for complex accounting, operational, and technical issues
Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, reserves, prepaids, fixed assets, and flux/variance analyses
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC requirements, ASC 842, SOX 404, and internal controls
Oversee accounting support for SEC reporting, statutory, and registered entity reporting
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, new standards, and policy changes
Advise leadership on accounting policy, financial governance, and risk management
Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and documentation
Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Revenue, and external advisors to align accounting results with business forecasts and operations
Lead external audits and quarterly reviews; coordinate PBCs and resolve audit issues
Drive scalable processes, automation, and system implementations (ERP, close tools)
Improve close efficiency, data quality, audit readiness, and operational rigor
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global accounting organization, establishing clear accountability and development paths
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required with public accounting experience
12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles within public, SaaS, and/or technology companies
Deep expertise in US GAAP, SEC disclosures, ASC 842 Lease accounting, and SOX 404 compliance
Proven experience leading global accounting teams in complex, high-growth environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and sound professional judgment
Executive presence with the ability to clearly communicate complex accounting matters
Process-oriented, data-driven, and execution-focused mindset
