The City of Baldwin Park is seeking a Housing Intern to support the Community Development Department's Housing Division. The intern will perform various administrative and clerical duties, assist with housing programs, and provide information and referrals to the community.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of responsible administrative and clerical duties in support of the Community Development's Housing Division
Provide a variety of routine clerical duties including but not limited to, data entry
Assist in development of reports
Maintenance of records
File and sort information
Compose and prepare a variety of correspondence and other materials
Sort and distribute mail
Answer telephones and relay messages
Update and maintain a variety of files related to housing activities
Accompanies housing staff on site visits
Assists with information and referrals services
Responds to the community, outside agencies, and internal departments regarding housing programs
Assists professional housing staff in the collection of data and preparation of staff reports, presentations, letters, application forms/handouts and public notifications
Greets and assists visitors and responds to citizen inquiries
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university with a major in public or business administration, real estate, or closely related field; or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, real estate, or a closely related field
One (1) year of increasingly responsible general clerical experience is highly desirable
Applicants MUST submit proof of current enrollment or a copy of their degree

Preferred

Experience working in the public sector is highly desirable
