Principal Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Engineer

SAIC is seeking an exceptional Principal Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) Engineer to join our team supporting one of the Department of Defense’s most critical and complex acquisition efforts – the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program. This role involves developing and evaluating advanced missile dynamics models, ensuring the operational readiness of the ICBM system, and delivering mission-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

Developing, reviewing, and testing advanced rocket and missile dynamics models to support Sentinel ICBM flight performance evaluations
Applying extensive engineering knowledge to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness of complex MS&A tools for missile systems
Performing system-level technical analyses to identify and resolve issues associated with rocket propulsion, missile dynamics, and guidance systems
Supporting technical and programmatic reviews by developing reports, documentation, and presentations for senior stakeholders
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to execute engineering processes and deliver critical solutions to the Sentinel System Program Office

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering; Computer Science; Mathematics; Physics; or a related technical field
A minimum of 9 years of experience in engineering or management support of defense systems, technology, or research and development activities
Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
A minimum of 3 years of experience in system design, integration, and analysis of military hardware or software systems

Preferred

Expertise in developing or working with 6-DOF simulations, modeling, and simulation systems
Developer-level proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Fortran, and Python
Understanding and implementation of agile software development practices
Experience with Department of Defense projects, including the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle
Familiarity with ICBM weapon systems and associated components
Demonstrated experience with the development and analysis of rocket/missile systems
Strong background in analyzing and interpreting large, complex data sets
