Responsibilities

Accountable for financial reporting and planning activities for the total Branchburg site, including management reporting for the Site Leadership Team, Central Finance, and the local Site Finance leader
Must be able to effectively communicate the drivers behind the reporting variances and prepare presentations and reports that clearly explain the financial performance/financial plan to all key stakeholders involved. He or she will be working closely with others on the team to be able to consolidate all finance/accounting related items at Branchburg
Responsible for the financial support for all departments at the manufacturing site: (30+ cost centers). This includes partnering with the Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Facilities, and administrative organizations to lead and develop forecasts and business plan for these departments and analyze the actual results to understand the variances
Must be able to provide updated forecasts based on trends and analysis. It is critical that this individual can effectively communicate variances, analysis, and updated forecasts to the Finance & Accounting organization and department leaders
Serves as the owner of local capital financial processes, with responsibility for the annual planning, oversight, and financial governance of approximately 50-100 capital projects
The primary owner of all capital investment requests and ensure all the proper documentation has been included (Business Case, Estimate Summary, Corporate Investment Decision Model) and that the proper procedures are followed
Work with the Local Engineering Team to provide quarterly forecasts and monthly reporting around the actual spend vs. business plan, which includes providing insight around the drivers behind the variances
Responsible for making sure capital projects are closed out in a timely manner to ensure our site recognizes appropriate timing for the depreciation of the assets that will be placed in service
Responsible for any Capital Audits that take place from either internal or external sources
Accountable for all of Branchburg’s fixed assets on site:
Responsible for maintaining an accurate record of the site’s fixed assets, continuously adding new assets (through the Cap Form) and removing assets throughout the year
Maintain constant communication with the engineering, facilities, and manufacturing departments to ensure appropriate action takes place for assets that are new, being removed, being moved to a different building/location, etc
Responsible for the Annual Fixed Asset Inventory that involves the evaluation of hundreds of local assets
Act as the central point of contact for the financial reporting systems
Maintain hierarchies for local cost centers & cost elements and coordinate the inputting of data for business plan & verify the accuracy and completeness of the data entry
Create and maintain sales orders in SAP and issue customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Perform accounts receivable aging analysis and ensure accurate cash application
Maintain a thorough understanding of customer contracts, including sales and invoicing schedules, manufacturing cost bases for pricing, and pricing adjustment mechanisms
Prepare and post manual AR journal entries as required
Reconcile and clear incoming customer payments against outstanding AR balances
Determine sales and use tax applicability based on the nature of transactions and usage, in coordination with external tax advisors
Oversee the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns with tax advisory firms
Prepare and manage W-9 forms and related compliance documentation
Manage Direct Pay Permits and ensure proper application in taxable transactions
Maintain and manage SAP master data, including cost centers, chart of accounts, and customer and vendor master records
Prepare and draft footnotes for consolidated financial statements of the headquarters
Respond to external audit inquiries and support financial statement audits by providing required documentation and explanations
Participate in the operational assessment and ongoing evaluation of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR)
Partner with the Site HR Lead to diligently plan, report, and analyze the Compensation & Benefits expense at Branchburg. This involves planning Branchburg’s C&B during the Business Plan/Strategic Plan seasons, while providing forecasts and reasons for variances throughout each year
Responsible for any ad-hoc requested analysis driven by the Site Finance Leader and/or the department managers for Facilities, Quality, central reporting, and internal/external auditors. Additionally, this role is responsible for any month-end closing financial or accounting items not explicitly mentioned above for the departments he or she controls financially

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field required
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
Experience using SAP for financial analysis and planning

Preferred

Master's degree (MBA, MS Finance, or similar) preferred
CPA, CFA, or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus
