Economist, People Experience and Technology Central Science
Amazon is seeking an economist for their People Experience and Technology Central Science (PXTCS) team, which focuses on using economics and data analysis to improve the lives of employees. Responsibilities
Apply economic methods to address business problems
Work with engineers and computer scientists to estimate models and algorithms on large scale data
Design pilots and measure impact
Transform successful prototypes into improved policies and programs at scale
Develop scientific models and conduct the data analysis, modeling, and experimentation necessary for estimating and validating models
Work closely with engineering teams to develop scalable data resources to support rapid insights
Take successful models and findings into production as new products and services
Communicate scientific approaches and findings to business leaders
Develop a research agenda that will address challenges and help implement solutions
Qualification
Required
PhD in economics or equivalent
Preferred
Knowledge of data analysis languages (e.g., R, Stata, Python, etc.) or other statistical software
Experience in a postdoctoral position, consulting position, government position or academic research
