Receptionist and Administrative Support (Contractor's Board)

The State of South Carolina's Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is seeking a Receptionist and Administrative Support. In this role, you will serve as the primary front desk receptionist for the Contractor’s Licensing Board, responding to inquiries and assisting applicants, while also processing applications and performing various administrative duties.

Responsibilities

You will serve as the primary front desk receptionist for the Contractor’s Licensing Board to respond to telephone inquiries and assist with walk-in applicants
You will process initial, renewal, and reinstatement applications for the Contractor’s Board
You will process financial statements and surety bonds and issue certifications as directed
You will open and distribute mail and perform other routine and general administrative duties in support of the assigned boards
You will perform a variety of other administrative and technical functions in support of the Board

Required

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience

Preferred

A high school diploma and four (4) years of experience directly related to the area of employment
Strong customer service skills and experience performing administrative functions
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and organizational functions of the applicable boards
Considerable data entry and research skills
Considerable knowledge and skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and computer software programs
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize tasks
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures
