Government Administration
Responsibilities
Assist by answering the switchboard and opening and sorting the mail
Audit and process client service authorizations
Assist by answering telephones and inquiries about payments
Research past due payments
Assist with processing other vendor payments in the section
Request duplicate warrants and copies of warrants from the State Comptroller’s Office
Serve as backup for the Accountant II desk
Assist with processing payments in the AWARE system
Scan and attach completed deposits, warrant cancellations, and EFT cancellations to the files
Scan and file refund journal transfer voucher schedules processed for payment
Perform other duties as necessary
Attendance at work is an essential job function
Qualification
Required
Accounting experience
Experience in answering a switchboard
Experience in using office equipment
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
Knowledge of state and federal requirements specific to financial payments for DVR
Ability to prepare financial statements and reports
Ability to review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness
Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques
