First Community Bank is committed to enhancing the community through various initiatives and is seeking a Mortgage Professional. This role focuses on generating new mortgage business and guiding borrowers through the mortgage process while fostering relationships within the community.

Responsibilities

Develop new mortgage loan opportunities through relationships with realtors, builders, and customers

Meet annual production goals (approximately $12 million in yearly sales)

Participate in community events, housing seminars, and realtor open houses

Interview loan applicants and explain mortgage options (government, conventional, and non-conventional)

Complete loan applications, disclosures, and submit clean files to underwriting

Coordinate with borrowers, processors, underwriters, attorneys, and real estate professionals to ensure timely closings

Maintain post-closing customer relationships to support future business

Provide qualified referrals to the Retail Line of Business, the Commercial Line of Business, Wealth Management and Trust, as well as Bearing Insurance

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience

Minimum of two years' experience in mortgage lending, banking, or related field

Strong sales, customer service, and relationship-building skills

Be a self-starter with minimal management oversight

Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Effective organizational and time management skills

Proficiency with business software applications (Salesforce and/or Encompass experience a plus)

Ability to travel as needed, including occasional overnight travel
