Assistant Branch Manager
Farmers & Merchants Bank is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring efficient banking services. The role involves assisting with teller functions, loan origination, and maintaining compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities
Ensure the branch and vaults are opened and closed on a timely basis
Enforce dual control procedures at all times
Facilitate teller buys and sells to the vault
Balance vaults, coin machines, etc
Audit teller drawers
Maintain monthly branch efficiency logs
Assist in monthly scheduling for branch staff, as needed
Oversee teller duties and assist line with customer transactions during peak periods
Keep staff informed of pertinent changes in operational policy and procedures
Prepare teller performance appraisals and disciplinary notices as required
Perform pre-audits to ensure ongoing adherence with compliance procedures
Maintain and test alarms and other security devices
Keep educated on all deposit, business, and consumer loan products
Maintain adequate supplies at the facility
Balance and trouble shoot ATM/Debit Card concerns
Maintain proper teller and vault cash levels including ordering coin and currency
Report facility-building concerns to maintenance
Ensure excellent customer service skills are practiced by all the teller staff members
Meet with staff regarding branch security and safety issues
Facilitate meetings to disseminate operational information
Qualification
Required
Proficient in the teller and personal banker functions
ATM balancing, night depository processing, and money courier service processing
Assist the Tellers and Personal Bankers during peak periods
Responsible for consumer and residential consumer loan origination
Perform all job functions in compliance with all Bank policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels when presenting a loan for review to the Loan Committee members
Ensuring complete follow through from beginning to end of loan documentation requirements, processing of loan through transfer of title
A good understanding and knowledge of Federal, State, banking compliance and regulations
Understanding of underwriting and determining credit worthiness
Above average analytical skills and math skills
Time management skills
Schedules and supervises Tellers and Universal Bankers
Leads and motivates the team to deliver high quality service ensuring delivery is accurate, complete, swift, professional, and courteous
Exudes stability and cultivates an engaged and enthusiastic team through effective coaching on proper behaviors, sales techniques, service expectations and compliance guidelines
Empowers the team to make sound decisions
This position operates in a professional office environment
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
Prolonged periods working at a desk and on a computer
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen, sit or stand, and walk or maneuver around the branch
Must be able to lift 25 to 30 pounds
This is a full-time position
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and rotating Saturdays from 8:00 am to noon
This position requires up to 25% travel, most of which is to the FMB branch locations
Some travel may be required for training, as needed
Preferred
Previous banking and/or financial related experience (5 to 10 years of experience)
Bachelor's Degree in related field is preferred, or five (5) years previous banking/lending experience
