Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities
Design, plan, specify, procure, validate, and implement safe, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing equipment and processes for production
Partner with the Lean / Continuous Improvement team to develop and sustain manufacturing processes and standard work that improve throughput, reduce defects, and enhance product quality and reliability
Research and benchmark best-in-class manufacturing practices and assembly techniques; introduce and implement improved process flows that reduce cycle time, cost, and waste
Collaborate with CNC programming and production supervision teams to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), capacity utilization, and schedule attainment
Maintain functional ownership of manufacturing routings, work instructions, and process flow documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency
Support new product development initiatives by driving Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) objectives
Provide hands-on support for production equipment and manufacturing processes to ensure optimal performance and rapid issue resolution
Serve as the Operations lead for New Product Introductions (NPI) and Engineering Change Notices/Requests (ECN/ECR), ensuring smooth implementation into production
Develop efficient and scalable production processes to build and ship custom-configured products within established market lead times
Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, manuals, and sample parts to determine appropriate manufacturing methods; create or update drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools as required
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to continuously improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and related data within the ERP system to support accurate production execution
Partner with the Quality team to investigate product and process issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence
Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment to drive results and support operational objectives
Provide support to adjacent functions—including planning/purchasing, inventory, inside sales, and instrumentation
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior experience with assembly and machining processes required; experience with welding, brazing, and/or soldering is a plus
Demonstrated hands-on production experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with manufacturing process improvement initiatives
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read, understand, and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, and procedure manuals
Ability to communicate effectively with production personnel, supervisors, and cross-functional team members throughout the organization
Solid project management and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SolidWorks or similar CAD design software
Ability to independently interpret drawings, blueprints, and written or verbal instructions
Ability to verify parts and assemblies using appropriate quality measurement tools and inspection devices
Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to perform calculations necessary to ensure accuracy of production requirements
Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities, including the ability to interpret instructions, schedules, and technical information
Work is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing/production environments
Ability to lift, carry, or move materials or equipment up to approximately 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring bending, leaning, and manual dexterity to handle tools and parts
Visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) sufficient to inspect parts, read drawings, measurements, and documentation
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Preferred
Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred
