Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge about systems software supplied by the manufacturer
Analyze current system software; proposed modifications; and new software for impact on installation problems, standards, and procedures
Implement new systems software and modifications without adverse effect on current production and testing and with minimal impact on systems under development
Establish standards for development, maintenance, and use of software
Identify requirements for customized software and directing the acquisition or development of appropriate packages
Create and follow procedures to ensure that software within the environment remains up to date and secure
Evaluate performance of software and initiate actions for improvements
Advise other teams regarding the resources required for projects during planning
Plan and conduct training courses for junior staff members, as well as staff from other teams as needed
Qualification
Required
Four-year degree and at least eight years IS Experience including four years in Systems Programming
OR Two-year technical degree and at least ten years IS experience including four years in Systems Programming
OR Equivalent combination of education and experience including four years in Systems Programming
Thorough knowledge of the design, programming, installation, and maintenance of computer software, training techniques, and the establishment of software standards
Experience with zSeries software including z/OS, CICS, and DB2
Experience working with and administering Linux systems on Z (z/VM & KVM)
Ability to plan and use time wisely
Ability to communicate, solve problems, and write clear instructions
Preferred
Knowledge or experience with AT-TLS is beneficial
Knowledge or experience with BMC Control-M is beneficial
