Labor & Employment Attorney
Workplace Legal is a professional law firm specializing in labor and employment matters, representing clients in California and New York. They are seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to handle litigation and provide legal advice to corporations and executives, focusing on employment law cases and HR issues.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Interview and meet with clients
Develop litigation strategy
Perform legal research
Draft pleadings
Manage discovery
Draft and respond to dispositive motions
Take and defend depositions
Argue motions
Prepare witnesses and experts
Serve as first- or second-chair at trials
Attend Labor Commissioner hearings, LWDA 'cure conferences', arbitrations, and mediations
Advise employers on high-stakes employee issues
Draft incentive compensation and other employment agreements
Work with startups and small businesses on HR infrastructure buildouts
Advise C-Suite executives on offer packages, departure strategies, and severance negotiations
Qualification
Required
Be licensed to practice law in California
Have 2+ years California employment litigation experience
Live in the San Francisco Bay Area (or be willing to travel here as necessary)
Be analytical, smart, ambitious, and focused on delivering high quality legal work
Be creative, flexible, and able to work independently and collaboratively
