Commissioning Manager

Responsibilities

Develop and manage comprehensive commissioning plans for data center projects from design through turnover
Lead commissioning activities for critical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAHs/CRACs, BMS, EPMS, fire/life safety, and controls
Serve as the primary point of contact for all commissioning-related activities
Review design documents for constructability, operability, and maintainability
Support design reviews, owner project requirements (OPR), and basis of design (BOD)
Develop commissioning schedules aligned with overall project milestones
Oversee factory witness testing (FWT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and integrated systems testing (IST)
Coordinate functional performance testing and validate system readiness
Identify, track, and resolve commissioning issues and deficiencies
Collaborate with owners, general contractors, trade partners, engineers, and vendors
Ensure clear communication and documentation across all project teams
Provide regular commissioning status updates and reports to leadership and clients
Ensure completion of commissioning documentation, test reports, and closeout packages
Support operational readiness, training, and transition to operations teams
Confirm systems meet performance, reliability, and redundancy requirements prior to handover
Ensure commissioning activities comply with project specifications, codes, and industry standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, NFPA, etc.)
Promote safe work practices and quality control throughout commissioning activities

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience in commissioning, engineering, or construction of mission-critical facilities
Proven experience commissioning data center or other mission-critical infrastructure
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data centers
Ability to lead complex testing efforts and multidisciplinary teams

Preferred

Commissioning certifications (CxA, CCP, CEM, or similar)
Experience with Tier III/Tier IV data centers
Familiarity with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center environments
