CFO/Managing Director
Growth Operators is a finance and human resources advisory firm focused on empowering growth for clients. The CFO/Managing Director will lead client engagements, manage finance and accounting functions, and drive business development activities while establishing relationships with executive leadership and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Establish and develop relationships with clients’ executive leadership, external partners, and stakeholders
Provide assessments of our client's current Finance and Accounting functions and provide strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive team
Manage the processes and procedures for all finance and accounting day-to-day responsibilities, leveraging client resources and/or Growth Operators team members as appropriate
Manage projects to keep on track and identify opportunities to provide additional value to our clients
Responsible for securing new and repeat business for Growth Operators through participation in business development activities. Must maintain a robust pipeline of leads, present Growth Operators’ capabilities to prospective clients, and establish and nurture relationships within the professional community
Maintain knowledge of industry trends as well as recent accounting and finance guidance
Provide leadership, direction, and management of clients’ finance and accounting teams as well as Growth Pros working with you on client engagements
Manage the processes for month-end close, financial forecasting, budgets, and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting
Advise on long-term business and financial planning
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written
Must be experienced at engaging with staff at all levels within the organization and exercise sound judgment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
20+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including 10+ years in a leadership / management role
High level of proficiency in MS Excel, various accounting and ERP systems
Enjoy working with multiple clients in a variety of industries
Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment with client and internal team
Strong project management skills
Must be able to spend substantial time in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area for onsite client work as needed
Preferred
CPA (active or inactive) and/or MBA
Prior experience engaging in business development activities
Background in mergers, acquisitions and integrations
Prior engagements in consulting or contract work
Experience working with private equity-backed companies
