Civil Engineer Trainee (Multiple Vacancies)
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking individuals for a Civil Engineer Trainee position within the Department of Transportation. This role involves participating in a 12-month training program to develop basic engineering skills through hands-on training in various engineering environments such as bridge and transportation engineering.

Responsibilities
Assists in performing surveys for highways and bridges in a transportation engineering environment
Assists in performing bridge design duties, bridge safety inspections, preparation of bridge plans and preparation of highway plans, geotechnical reports, etc
Assists in the preparation of highway and bridge construction projects
Assists in the District and/or county maintenance organizations with assigned maintenance and traffic engineering duties
Assists in performing other related duties as required for the training phase
Qualification
Required
One year of civil engineering experience and a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field that includes or is supplemented by major coursework in civil engineering
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within ten months of graduating with a qualifying degree
You must be able to perform essential job functions
