Responsibilities

Build and maintain DBT models for Shopify and related sources, maintaining curated marts for orders, customers, products, inventory/fulfillment, refunds/returns, discounts/promotions, and cohorting
Define and standardize marketing and ecommerce KPIs (channel performance, CAC, ROAS, funnel conversion, retention/cohorts, LTV, promotion performance, etc.)
Create durable, well-documented “gold” datasets that reduce channel reporting inconsistencies and enable trusted executive reporting
Collaborate on ingestion and integration of marketing/ecomm data (e.g., Shopify, GA4, ad platforms, email/SMS platforms, CDP), including handling schema evolution and source changes
Contribute to pipeline resiliency: monitoring inputs, improving failure recovery/backfills, and improving pipeline performance
Support orchestration workflows (e.g., DBT Cloud, Airflow, Azure Data Factory), focusing on dependable scheduling, dependency management, and operational visibility
Build and maintain attribution-ready datasets by standardizing UTMs, channel groupings, campaign mappings, and conversion alignment
Partner with stakeholders to align on attribution assumptions (last-click vs other heuristics), reporting windows, and reconciliation strategies across attribution platforms
Own the creation and governance of consistent definitions and a ubiquitous language within the Marketing & eCommerce domain, establishing a durable “source of truth” that aligns stakeholders across platforms and reporting
Work closely with the Data Scientist to create marts, training/validation datasets, and experimentation-ready tables for marketing and ecommerce initiatives
Support testing and iteration loops by producing reliable datasets for A/B tests, holdouts, lift measurement, audience evaluation, and lifecycle performance tracking
Help operationalize model outputs and experimentation artifacts into analytics-ready tables that BI and stakeholders can use
Partner closely with the BI Engineer to ensure marketing and ecommerce datasets are optimized for reporting performance and semantic consistency
Provide stable marts and clear definitions so BI dashboards are maintainable and stakeholders can self-serve with confidence
Implement strong DBT testing coverage and freshness expectations for high-impact marketing/ecomm models
Maintain documentation (DBT docs, lineage, and a marketing/ecomm data dictionary) emphasizing metric definitions and “how to use” guidance
