UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. They are seeking a Communication Specialist to develop and implement communication and visibility plans for polio eradication donors, working closely with the Polio Resource Mobilization team and partners.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor donor visibility plans aligned with donor agreements and organizational standards in coordination with the GPEI Global Communication Group
Compile three donor reports in close consultation with the polio resource mobilization and finance team, and country offices
Support compilation of 2025 UNICEF Polio Annual Report
Support organization of media campaigns and high-level advocacy events
Produce multimedia content in-house including videos, photo stories and social media graphics
Develop scripts, briefs, storyboards, and production guidance for video and digital content
Identify and package compelling human-interest stories and photo essays published or created by country offices for global dissemination
Develop and manage social media visibility plans with tailored messaging for partners and donors
Create and coordinate social media content to amplify donor recognition and polio eradication milestones as part of the GPEI Global Communication Group
Maintain digital dashboards and track analytics, and provide insights and reports as and when required
Attend biweekly GPEI resource mobilization and communication meetings
Present update on visibility activities during monthly donor meetings as and when required, and through email communication
Six (6) videos (2 min each) produced in-house sourcing footage from country offices and partners
Two (2) scripts created for video soundbites from a goodwill ambassador or global/regional advocate
Two (2) photo stories produced for web publication
One (1) human interest story produced for web publication (500 words)
Twenty-four (24) social media graphics produced (approx. 4 every month)
One (1) set of slide deck produced for background digital display for an advocacy event
Monthly social media calendar created for @UNICEFPolio accounts
Data-driven campaign performance analytics generated and disseminated bi-weekly with partners and donors using social listening and media monitoring dashboards

Required

An advanced university degree (Master's or higher) preferably in mass communications, International Relations, International Development, or other relevant fields
Minimum of 7 years of relevant international and/or national professional experience in communication, advocacy, and donor/partnership management
At least 3 years of proven experience producing videos and related digital content utilizing tools and application available in the office in-house for advocacy and resource mobilization purposes
Proven experience managing social media plans and producing analytical dashboards and reports
Proven experience and ability to develop, implement, monitor and report on donor visibility and communication plans with limited supervision
Expertise in production of multimedia content in-house using Adobe Premier, Photoshop and related applications
Strong analytical skills and familiarity with digital performance metrics
Proven experience contributing to or leading planning and execution of high-level advocacy events and campaigns in coordination with multiple partner agencies
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Completed profile in UNICEF's e-Recruitment system and your CV / Personal History Form (P11)
