Start in 2026 SummerICF is a global advisory and technology services provider, and they are seeking Energy and Climate Planning Interns to contribute to the development of innovative analytical products and services. Interns will perform quantitative analysis, support client strategy development, and engage in research synthesis while gaining subject matter expertise and project management skills.

Responsibilities
Perform advanced quantitative and economic analysis of energy and environmental markets
Contribute to the development and enhancement of ICF proprietary models and databases
Evaluate the impact of future regulation and support the development of client strategies to manage change
Write analysis for major corporate and government clients’ deliverables
Support the development of research synthesis reports, industry benchmarking, quantitative analysis and policy summaries
Contribute to business development and marketing efforts and thought leadership development through market research, data analysis and creation of marketing content
Qualification
Required
By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours is required in Energy, Policy, Climate, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field
Preferred
By start date, acceptance/ enrollment verification, or at least 9 credit hours of completed graduate-level courses in Energy, Policy, Climate, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field
A completed bachelor's degree
Strong interest in one or more of these areas: energy economics, energy finance, climate, greenhouse gas accounting, operations research, and energy policy analysis
The ability to work with and understand technical concepts, while also being able to communicate them to non-technical personnel
Basic knowledge of R, Python and/or other coding languages
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong analytical skills and capabilities in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
Working knowledge of US energy markets, policies, and technology
