Responsibilities

Contributing to the formulations and implementation of policies relating to the sector workforce management and position management policy, procedures and other matters affecting U.S. Border Patrol workforce administrative programs
Initiating timely and accurate personnel-related actions related to promotions, reassignments, transfers, retirements, awards, timecards, and leave
Providing local agency direction and facilitating the creating, accepting, modifying and transferring of personal property records in accordance with U.S. Border Patrol directives
Conducting records management and producing various fleet reports

Experience: You qualify for the GS-9 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as advising management on questions pertaining to leave administration; recommending resolutions to budgetary issues; verifying the accuracy and completeness of information; assisting in developing briefing, presentation, and conference materials for supervisors and executive management
Experience: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as coordinating and monitoring administrative projects such as budget, personnel, travel, space, logistics, etc.; problem solving, analyzing data to identify trends and develop estimates and studies; preparing narrative and data reports; representing the office in dealings with vendors and personnel from administrative support organizations
Education Substitution: GS-9: A Master's degree; or two full years of graduate education; or a J.D. or an LL.B
Education Substitution: GS-11: A Ph.D.; or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or an LL.M
Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified and may be computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience
