Level III Electrical Engineer

North Star Scientific Corporation is seeking an Electronics Engineer with foundational knowledge in RF, power supply, and digital circuit design to support the development, testing, and integration of advanced electronic systems. The ideal candidate will support the design and troubleshooting of RF circuits, assist in power supply evaluation, and contribute to digital circuit development.

Responsibilities

Support the design, analysis, and troubleshooting of RF circuits and subsystems, including amplifiers, filters, mixers, and antenna interfaces
Assist in the development and evaluation of AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, voltage regulators, and power conversion circuits
Contribute to digital circuit and embedded system development, including logic design, microcontrollers, and high-speed digital interfaces
Participate in system-level integration involving RF, power, and digital components
Perform testing, characterization, and documentation of electronic hardware using standard lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and logic analyzers
Work with senior engineers to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements
Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, test reports, and design notes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and quality to support product development and troubleshooting

Required

Minimum of 10 years of design experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex products from concept through production
Designed products that successfully progressed into full production, including ownership of design decisions, documentation, and validation
Assist with production activities, including design-for-maneuverability (DFM) reviews, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, supporting suppliers, and implementing engineering changes as needed
Knowledge of RF engineering concepts such as impedance matching, noise, S-parameters, and RF signal behavior
Understanding of power supply design fundamentals including linear and switching topologies, efficiency, EMI/EMC considerations, and protection mechanisms
Familiarity with digital electronics, logic design, microcontrollers/FPGAs, communication protocols, and mixed-signal interfaces
Basic understanding of PCB layout considerations, signal integrity, grounding, and thermal management
Ability to interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical specifications
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
Experience with simulation tools (SPICE, RF simulation, power modeling)
Experience in a lab environment performing hardware testing and measurements
Exposure to defense, aerospace, communications, or related industries is a plus
