Purchasing, Inventory Control & Parts Sales Manager
Ashlock Company is a fast-moving food-equipment company seeking a Purchasing, Inventory Control & Parts Sales Manager. This role involves overseeing production activities, ensuring efficient workflows, and managing parts procurement and inventory control.
Responsibilities
Source, order, and track parts, materials, and consumables
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and competitive pricing
Monitor lead times and proactively address potential shortages
Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability
Conduct cost-benefit analyses to compare building parts in-house versus outsourcing to external manufacturers
Maintain accurate parts inventory levels / counts for, work‑in‑progress & finished goods
Implement and refine inventory systems to reduce stockouts and excess
Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
Plan & assign daily/weekly workloads based on order priorities & capacity
Coordinate with production staff to ensure smooth workflow and on‑time completion
Identify bottlenecks and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency
Review incoming orders & prepare job packets, drawings & required materials
Ensure all documentation is complete & accurate before work begins
Communicate special requirements or customizations to the production team
Work closely with the engineering on new part designs, sourcing feasibility & costing
Assist in prototyping & testing phases to ensure parts meet design specifications & procurable at scale
Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments
Inspect incoming materials for accuracy & quality
Provide freight cost estimates to customers
Schedule outgoing shipments to meet customer requirements
Be the customer point of contact for parts order status, lead times & logistics
Provide clear, timely updates & resolve issues professionally
Collaborate with sales and service teams to support customer needs
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production coordination, or a related role
Experience in equipment manufacturing or food‑processing equipment is a plus
Strong organizational & multitasking skills
Comfortable with ERP systems, spreadsheets & basic reporting
Excellent communication skills with a professional, customer‑focused mindset
Ability to thrive in a small‑team environment where flexibility is essential
