Operations Product Owner
Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a strategic leader to serve as an Operations Product Owner at Headquarters Air Force. This role involves directing enterprise-level IT solutions, defining product roadmaps, and ensuring successful delivery of mission-critical systems built on the ServiceNow platform.
Responsibilities
You will be a strategic leader who directs the future of enterprise-level IT solutions
We are looking for a Lead Product Owner to set the strategic direction for mission-critical systems built on the ServiceNow platform
As an expert consultant, you will be responsible for the overall management, vision, and success of your assigned programs
Your role goes beyond traditional product ownership
You will define the product roadmap, influence IT policy, and lead the planning for major product releases
You will translate high-level enterprise needs into a clear vision, ensuring your team delivers robust, state-of-the-art solutions that drive mission success
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Mastery of software design concepts and methods and relationships among multiple IT disciplines, standards and architectures
Knowledge of and skills to apply a broad range of IT methods, practices, and techniques to ensure work is in compliance with approved policies, standards and architecture
Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to apply standards and architectural principles of the Joint Technical Architecture and the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
Knowledge of and ability to apply interoperability guidance of various IT disciplines, manuals and instructions
Cyberspace Qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes Cyberspace work as a paramount duty requirement. Per Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 8140.03, para 4.2.a.(2)., requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role and resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role. A waiver of these requirements may be granted per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to achieve and maintain the proper Cyberspace Qualification may result in removal from this position
Preferred
You have extensive leadership experience in Agile environments, with a mastery of Scrum and Kanban principles
You are an expert in IT Service Management (ITSM) principles, with direct experience managing products on the ServiceNow platform
You have a proven track record of leading and mentoring technical teams to achieve high performance
Excel at program-level strategic planning, including roadmap development and stakeholder management at the executive level
Understanding of the Total Force concept, including Active Duty, National Guard, and Air Reserve Components
A background in a senior role within government, defense, or a large-scale enterprise is required
