EVS Associate Director

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Associate Director for their Environmental Services department. The role is responsible for supervising front-line managers, coordinating staffing, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities

Ensure the entire team of front-line managers receives the proper supervision, education, in-servicing, and support required to perform assigned duties and responsibilities successfully
Coordinate staffing and work with internal customers to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
Ensure the department has the resources and equipment to function 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the department's services
Continually assess and improve the department’s performance/maintain appropriate quality control programs
Provide orientation and training, continuing education opportunities of personnel within the department
Participate in the selection of outside services if needed
Ensure compliance with appropriate patient care and business practice

Required

Bachelor's Degree required
Five to seven years of management experience is required, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting
Environmental Services background required with demonstrated success within the EVS profession with knowledge of industry standards
Demonstrated success with large complex matrixed departments required
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects
Ability to learn new systems software
Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification is required within one year of employment

Preferred

Master's degree is preferred in hospitality, health care, business, or equivalent
