Responsibilities
Install and commission CNC machines at customer sites across the Midwest and beyond
Service primarily horizontal and vertical lathes, with exposure to large milling and 5-axis machining centers
Perform machine setup, alignment, and verification to micron-level tolerances
Read gauges, digital levels, and precision measurement tools accurately
Support customers during installation timelines ranging from a few days to multi-week projects
Collaborate with factory and manufacturer engineers to learn and deploy specialized equipment
Train customer operators on safe operation, startup/shutdown, and emergency procedures
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues as needed
Travel 50%+ of the time, including occasional long-distance trips
Qualification
Required
Hands-on CNC machine installation experience strongly preferred
Experience with Fanuc controls
Ability to read measurements and tolerances down to the micron level
Experience using digital levels and precision gauges
Working knowledge of basic G-code for setup and troubleshooting
Willingness and ability to travel extensively
Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport and access military bases
Comfortable working directly with customers and international factory engineers
Preferred
Experience installing large lathes or heavy CNC equipment preferred
Electrical or controls troubleshooting experience preferred
Background working in aerospace, defense, or heavy industrial environments preferred
