Responsibilities

Represent the company at assigned MX events and monitor daily operations of aircraft
Coordinate with Manager of Maintenance Control ensuring necessary information to resolve aircraft damage claims is forwarded to MOCC. This shall include damage reports, witness statements, pictures, technical data, manual references, measurements, contributing factors, as contained in a damage/incident report
Assure continued airworthiness of OAI aircraft in accordance with FAR’s and the provisions of OAI General Maintenance Manual (GMM), protecting at all times the best interest of OAI and its property, whether in work, parked, stored or in related handling, towing, etc
Closely monitor all work or inspection operations being accomplished on company aircraft; and ensure the proper references, manual forms, or records are available and are used in connection with the operation
Ensure all records of the discrepancies are cleared with adequate corrective action taken, and ensure all records (log pages, task cards, coupons, wortans, NEF, etc.) reach Maintenance Records department with minimum delay
Ensure that repairable parts are tagged correctly with accurate information to include reason for removal
Maintain close control on all operations performed, ensure against excessive cost or unnecessary duplication of labor employed and that equipment used is proper to its application and adequate for the planned usage. Checking parts or components being installed to ensure they are serviceable and acceptable within the meanings of FAR’s and the company manual; and that hardware, supplies, or materials used in connection with work operations are an approved type and will not result in deterioration of structure, finish or installations by corrosive or other deleterious action. In addition assure all parts or components are properly stored or handled in an approved manner
Assist Director of Maintenance with opening and closing line stations, including the employment and termination of personnel, leasing working space, acquiring vehicles and equipment, coordinating airport access, and setting up new vendors
Receive incoming aircraft, screen Flight Log for incidents reportable under the Mechanical Reliability Report Procedures, and immediately remit information by quickest means of communication available (telephone, fax, or cable) to Director of Quality Control. Review pilot complaints, log entries, obtain clarification as necessary to ensure the entry provides sufficient information on which to base corrective action. Review DMI, COI, and NEF items and affect corrective action on all discrepancies that parts and time permit
Effectively liaison with flight crew as required, ensure all servicing, repair or scheduled inspection operations will be accomplished in time available, and to perform; and supervise the performance of those requirements
Ensure that all departing aircraft are serviceable in accordance with FAR’s and the company manual, all work and servicing performed is properly documented and all equipment required for the condition of the flight is aboard and properly stowed. At enroute stations, ensure any parts removed and subsequently re-installed as part of the flyaway spares kit are properly secured; that airworthy release had been completed and recorded in accordance with company maintenance and inspection procedures
Advise the Maintenance Operational Control Center (MOCC) whenever parts are used from the flyaway spares kit by expeditious means, and to make entry in Aircraft Log book
Coordinate with Director of Maintenance, Manager of Maintenance Control and/or Manager of Line Maintenance to resolve fleet maintenance issues, and make suggestions for improvement of fleet maintenance and reliability
Assume the duties, responsibilities and authority of the Maintenance Supervisor at any location where company mechanics are utilized
Perform ETOPS duties as defined in the ETOPS Policies and Procedures Manual (EPPM)
Perform duties significant to the Lower Minimums Maintenance Program (LMP) as specified in GMM Chapter 12
Perform review of Maintenance personnel and administer/seek disciplinary action when required
Perform station audits
Represent the company and monitor daily operations of aircraft
Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Maintenance or Line Maintenance Manager

Required

Flight Mechanic Supervisor is required to be thoroughly familiar with the provisions of the company General Maintenance Manual with revisions issued by the Quality Control Department
Must be willing to work various hours and shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays in various time zones
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. passport which allows unrestricted travel to all countries where OAI may fly
Position requires extensive travel
Valid state issued driver's license with clear MVR (no major moving violations within the past 3 years)
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Access
Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen
High School diploma or GED (required)
Valid A&P license
Minimum of 3 years transport category experience on B767 and B777 aircraft
Previous supervisory experience
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
