Architectural Intern
Studio MM is a Hudson Valley based architecture firm specializing in client-focused contemporary residential design. They are seeking an Architectural Intern to collaborate with Project Architects and Project Managers on various design and construction tasks, gaining valuable experience in residential projects.

Responsibilities
Collaborating with Project Architects and Project Managers on project assignments and design concepts adhering to project workflow and timelines
Assisting Project Architects and Project Managers with all aspects of design including
Research related to project program and gathering inspiration and precedent images for projects
Preparing early-stage design studies in multiple media including physical models, three-dimensional renderings and presentation drawings
Rendering design ideas in the form of sketches, drawings, or illustrations
Producing designs using hand drawings and computer-aided design (CAD)
Estimating material requirements and costs
Presentations of design to clients for approval
Developing full construction drawing set, including dimensioned plans, site plans, elevations, sections, interior elevations, construction details, foundation plans, framing plans, and structural details
Coordinating with contractors and subcontractors throughout construction
Producing weekly construction updates for clients
Participating in weekly studio project management meetings with all staff
Participating in quarterly studio profitability meetings and bi-annual team meetings about firm culture, development, and financials
Overseeing the organization and maintenance of the material library, including the cataloging of new vendor samples and ensuring the collection remains tidy and accessible for the design team; and
Supporting office operations by monitoring and restocking supplies, managing inventory requests, and assisting the team with administrative needs such as scanning, printing, and document preparation
Qualification
Required
Able to assist senior architectural staff in duties related to design of projects
Willing and able to take on tasks as needed to assist marketing staff
Must be a team player with a 'no job is too small' mentality
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign required
Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited Undergraduate Architecture program (B.Arch or B.S. Arch)
A demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for residential architecture and the unique challenges of designing personal living spaces
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who can work efficiently and independently
