Senior Mechanical Engineer
Integrated Tactical Technologies (iT2) develops advanced IoT and wearable systems for commercial and government applications. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and manufacturing optimization for wearable and embedded hardware programs, ensuring robust and cost-effective designs suitable for regulated use cases.

Responsibilities
Design and refine mechanical components and enclosures for wearable and IoT devices
Balance aesthetics, ergonomics, durability, and environmental resilience
Lead tolerance stack-ups, feasibility studies, and structural analyses (FEA)
Drive iterative improvements to existing designs to enhance robustness and user experience
Build and evaluate prototypes using rapid methods (3D printing, soft tooling, CNC)
Support mechanical testing, validation, and failure analysis
Collaborate on system-level testing to ensure mechanical and electronic integration
Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and scalability using DFM/DFA principles
Work with contract manufacturers to reduce variability and improve yields
Apply lean manufacturing concepts to streamline processes and reduce waste
Support production ramps and small-scale manufacturing efforts
Partner with electrical and firmware engineers on enclosure integration, wire routing, and thermal considerations
Support compliance and documentation for commercial and government applications
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
8–10+ years of experience in mechanical design for hardware products
Strong experience with wearables, IoT devices, or compact electronics
Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks (or equivalent)
Deep knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, stamping, etc.)
Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and production support
Tolerance analysis, GD&T, and mechanical stack-ups
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation tools
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Vendor and contract manufacturer collaboration
Strong problem-solving and documentation skills
Preferred
Experience in regulated environments (commercial, government, medical, or defense-adjacent)
Familiarity with biocompatibility, environmental sealing, or ruggedized designs
Experience with thermal management or opto-mechanical packaging
Exposure to rapid production and low-to-mid volume manufacturing
