Wharton County Electric Cooperative- CEO
Wharton County Electric Cooperative (WCEC) is a not-for-profit electric cooperative located in El Campo, TX, serving over 4,126 members. The CEO will provide leadership, strategic planning, and operational guidance to the cooperative, ensuring effective business operations and team cohesion.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, advice, and assistance to the Board of Directors concerning industry changes, strategic planning, business objectives, and policy needs
Create an environment that encourages teambuilding and a cohesive work environment between the Board, management, and employees
Direct WCEC’s day-to-day operations and activities, ensuring that the business of the cooperative is conducted in accordance with WCEC’s bylaws, policies, strategic plans, and business objectives
Serve on the boards of South Texas Electric Cooperative and San Miguel Electric Cooperative
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree is required; an advanced degree such as an MBA, is a plus
5 years of management and leadership experience is required
Preferred
NRECA Management Internship Program (MIP) graduate not required but preferred
Education or experience in Accounting & Finance, Engineering, Business or Operations is preferred
At least 5 years of electric utility experience is a plus
Electric cooperative experience will set you apart from other candidates
