Start in 2026 SummerGuideWell Source is offering a summer internship program for college juniors, seniors, and graduate students to gain hands-on experience in IT. Interns will work on real projects across various tracks including AI, cybersecurity, data analytics, and more, while receiving mentorship and training in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
Tour our World Class Data Center
Meet with leaders from all domains within the IT organization
Engage with Executive IT Leadership throughout the program
Present to Florida Blue’s CIO and IT Vice Presidents at the program's conclusion
Develop, fine-tune, and deploy models that tackle complex business problems
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to bring AI capabilities to life
Help in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to safeguard our company data, databases, and information systems
Design, implement, and troubleshoot technology
Monitor and maintain complex systems
Delve into the world of infrastructure as code, networking, automation, data storage, and security
Work alongside the best in the business, tackling real-world challenges and projects that make a real difference
Collaborate with highly skilled red-team and blue-team members
Work on real-world business problems and publicly available datasets, applying cutting-edge techniques like data wrangling, model development, and visualization
Designing, developing, and deploying data analytics models and algorithms to solve business problems
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Showcase your creative skills, leveraging your knowledge of web development, design, and programming to craft solutions that make a real impact
Define and document business requirements, as well as collaborate with software developers, product owners, and testers to bring innovative solutions to life
Contribute to literature review, data analysis, experimental design (A/B testing), survey design, creation and implementation of recommendations
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in computer science, information technology, mathematics, psychology, or related degree program as a Junior or Senior student at an accredited college/university in May 2026
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better during the duration of the internship
Must be able to commit to working at least 30 hours a week
Basic PC skills required including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Basic programming knowledge, JavaScript/HTML/CSS or other Object Oriented programming experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; team and collaboration-oriented
Work under minimal supervision and adapt to a dynamic, changing environment
Must be a creative and innovative thinker
Strong foundation in Natural Language Processing (NLP) with a solid grasp of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
Proficiency in transformer-based architectures and working knowledge of large language models (LLMs)
Proficiency in programming languages like Python, with expertise in frameworks like TensorFlow and/or PyTorch and LangChain
Data manipulation and statistical analysis skills
A passion for generative AI that drives you to push boundaries and explore new possibilities
A knack for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting technology
Experience in monitoring and maintaining complex systems

Strong programming skills languages like Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, or Swift
Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
Experience with version control systems like Git
Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, or Angular
Familiarity with back-end frameworks such as Node.js
A strong understanding of business operations and processes
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable parts
Experience with business analysis tools and techniques, such as use cases, user stories, and process mapping
Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Preferred
Applied experience in leveraging open-source LLMs
Background in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics
Experience with AWS or Azure
Completed or in progress certifications such as Security+, Network+ A+, and/or Linux+
Experience with SQL database
Knowledge of R or Python
