Sierra Pacific Industries is a fourth-generation family-owned company based in Northern California, one of the largest lumber and millwork producers in the U.S. They are seeking Mechanical Engineering Interns to assist experienced engineers in the design and rebuilding of lumber manufacturing equipment, gaining hands-on experience in fabrication and machining.

Responsibilities

Assist full time engineers with drafting and seeing projects and sub assembly projects through the manufacturing process
Take on small projects that involve designing or rebuilding wood products equipment
Work and gain experience in a full on fabrication, machining, and tech shop

Qualification

SolidworksMechanical systemsWelding proceduresMachining proceduresMulti-tasking skillsCommunication skillsOrganizational skills

Required

Currently in second or third year of engineering school, in or related to mechanical systems
Completed coursework in a 3D modeling class or competent in Solidworks
Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of basic welding and machining procedures
Interested in machinery and mechanical systems
