Director of Supply Chain
Magic Mind is a fast-growing wellness brand on a mission to enhance mental performance. The Director of Supply Chain will architect and scale the operational backbone, overseeing supplier strategy, production planning, and inventory optimization to support significant growth targets.
Responsibilities
Own and improve Magic Mind’s end-to-end supply chain strategy across procurement, production, inventory, and logistics
Forecast demand in collaboration with Sales, Ops, and Finance to ensure optimal inventory levels and cash-efficient planning
Build and manage capacity plans across co-manufacturers, co-packers, and suppliers
Identify bottlenecks and design scalable processes to support aggressive growth targets
Own all key supplier relationships, contracts, and performance management (co-packers, raw material suppliers, packaging vendors, 3PLs)
Evaluate and onboard new suppliers to improve cost, quality, reliability, and sustainability
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, SLAs, and long-term agreements that reduce COGS and minimize operational risk
Maintain a robust approved vendor list and audit cadence
Oversee procurement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods with a focus on cost control and lead-time reduction
Implement a formalized purchasing and replenishment process that aligns with production schedules
Monitor ingredient and packaging markets to anticipate risks or price fluctuations
Manage monthly and weekly production schedules with co-manufacturers to ensure on-time, in-full delivery
Align inventory, ingredient availability, and capacity constraints to prevent stockouts or overproduction
Implement quality control frameworks, including batch review, COA checks, lot-tracking, and issue resolution
Own inventory accuracy, replenishment, and safety-stock modeling across all storage locations (3PLs, co-man facilities, etc.)
Partner with 3PLs to ensure world-class pick/pack, shipping speed, and cost efficiency
Reduce logistics costs through optimization of freight, carriers, and fulfillment processes
Oversee inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciling discrepancies
Work closely with VP of Operations, Finance, and Marketing to maintain alignment on forecasts, launches, and operational constraints
Support new product development with supply chain feasibility assessments, sourcing plans, and production timelines
Provide proactive communication on risks, delays, and mitigation plans
Optimize supply chain tools (ERP, inventory systems, demand planning models)
Manage and build dashboards to monitor KPIs: service levels, forecast accuracy, COGS, inventory turns, lead times, etc
Leverage data to drive decisions around capacity, purchasing, and network optimization
Qualification
Required
5–8+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or production planning within the food, beverage, or broader CPG space
Strong understanding of FDA, GMP, HACCP, and quality/compliance standards relevant to beverage manufacturing
Experience working with co-manufacturers and co-packers, ideally in a high-SKU, fast-growth environment
Comfortable navigating ingredient sourcing, formulation changes, and batch/lot traceability
Proven track record managing relationships with suppliers, co-mans, 3PLs, and packaging vendors
Skilled at negotiating pricing, MOQs, lead times, and long-term supply agreements
Adept at evaluating new vendors, running RFP processes, and building a reliable, diversified supplier network
Demonstrated ability to resolve production issues, quality concerns, and supply chain disruptions quickly and diplomatically
Experience owning cross-functional initiatives from concept to execution with clear timelines, budgets, and outcomes
Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage both internal contributors and external partners
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to build systems and processes that scale
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean startup environment where priorities shift and proactive problem-solving is essential
Excellent communicator who can translate complex supply chain issues into clear recommendations for stakeholders
