Summer Intern - Supervision & Regulation - BSA / AML

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that make up the Federal Reserve System. They are seeking a Summer Intern for a research project focused on understanding the Y-14Q PPNR G2 Schedule and its underlying data structure, which involves engaging with modeling teams and documenting findings.

Responsibilities

The intern will be working on a research project to gain deeper understanding of the Y-14Q PPNR G2 Schedule and its underlying data structure
This project helps us to identify potential model improvements and refinement
The intern will engage with modeling teams to assess model assumptions, document findings, and provide recommendations
The intern can help to build up interest income for loans' model performance monitoring process, including back-testing, stability testing, etc
For the usage of non-confidential data to assess interest income spread modeling, the intern will be working on modeling the loan interest income rate spreads using Y-9C or call report
The focus is to explore how spreads vary across time and across portfolio, to explore correlations between spreads and macroeconomic indicators

Required

PhD level or graduate student with preferred majors in Economics or Finance
A master's or PhD student pursuing a degree related to Economics or Finance
Experience in Stata, R programming and MS Office Suite
Strong quantitative skills in areas of econometrics and statistics

Preferred

Knowledge of financial statements, or regulatory reporting (i.e. Call report, Y-9C, Y-14)
Verbal and written communication skills
Problem solving skills
Attention to detail is needed to make sure that the data work has been performed correctly
Organizational skills to annotate and document their work such that others can pick up where the project left off
Ability to work well independently with little supervision, the project manager will be available to assist
Strong presentation and communication skills to share what they have completed concisely and effectively
