The Office of the NYS Comptroller is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 2 to perform technical support related to IT activities, including network and system design, customer support, and database system development. Responsibilities
Perform or assist in performing technical and agency program support of IT activities related to network and system design, configuration, maintenance, and security; customer support; business/systems analysis and design which may include web site development and administration of a transactional, dynamic or interactive web site; and the design and development of database systems
Work as a web developer to support the agency’s public-facing website, osc.ny.gov
Help configure the Drupal application— the website’s content management system (CMS)—including implementing and editing themes, taxonomies, modules, access control and security updates
Collaborate with business analysts and users to gather and refine requirements, help staff troubleshoot production issues, and draft system documentation
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology
A bachelor's or higher-level degree, including or supplemented by 15 credit hours in computer science courses
60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology
A total of two years of experience in information technology
You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title, eligible under the 55 b/c program, or eligible to transfer to this title under Section 52.6, 70.1, or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law
For 52.6, 70.1, or 70.4 transfer to an Information Technology Specialist 2, salary grade (SG)-18, you must have one year of permanent competitive, or 55-b/55-c service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-16 or above
You must be a qualified employee of the Office of the New York State Comptroller and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an Information Technology Specialist 1
