Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects including sitework, utilities, and heavy construction
Analyze project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work and identify potential issues
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to gather relevant data for accurate estimating
Utilize estimating software such as HCSS, AGTEK, and HeavyBid to generate precise estimates
Review subcontractor bids and negotiate to ensure the best value for the company
Monitor and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes in scope or market conditions
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Proven experience as an estimator in civil construction, with a strong focus on utilities, sitework, and heavy construction
Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS, AGTEK, and HeavyBid
Strong understanding of civil construction processes including grading, earthwork, paving, water and sewer systems, and treatment plants
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in cost estimation
Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with clients and subcontractors
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
