Director of Learning and Development
Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS) is seeking a visionary leader for their training programs. The Director of Learning & Development will design, lead, and improve the organization’s training strategy to ensure employees are effectively onboarded and supported in their roles.

Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive training framework to support onboarding, skill progression, and clinical excellence across all departments
Manage a team of clinical trainers, fostering a culture of growth, consistency, and collaboration
Create standardized curricula, assessment tools, and competency checklists to ensure fairness, clarity, and alignment with hospital-wide goals
Partner with hospital leadership to ensure training aligns with medical protocols, patient safety, and operational priorities
Work closely with HR, department managers, and recruiting to support employee development and strengthen retention initiatives
Qualification
Required
3+ years in a leadership role, including managing training programs or people
Experience designing and implementing training programs, ideally in clinical or healthcare settings
Excellent communication, project management, and organizational abilities
Familiar with learning management systems (LMS), instructional design, and adult learning principles
A strategic thinker who thrives on developing people and improving systems
