Responsibilities
Oversee and provide hands-on project management of 10 – 20 active small to medium client data and software integration projects
Perform various tasks as assigned and required in support of the integration of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems including research of available methods, working with EMR vendors, basic troubleshooting and testing of solution, etc
Develop and manage project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), schedule, resource plan, issue log, change control
Plan and lead internal and client project meetings
Identify, assess, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues
Create and maintain accurate, quality project documentation and status
Meet the scope, schedule, resource and budget commitments reflected in the project management plan
Manage the timely resolution of issues, including the escalation of issues that are outside of the project team’s scope of responsibility
Maintain a fundamental understanding of the services and solutions Allscripts Altera provides to customers
Operate as a subject matter expert (SME), provides customers with insight and direction
Continually identify and proactively manage project risks & issues, ensure execution of corrective action plans up to closure
Monitor the project and report the project status to management on a weekly basis
Activation support to address to upgrade related issues and workflow concerns
Self-starter and Quick Learner – rapidly assimilates information from a variety of internal and external
Qualification
Required
5+ years of work experience
Experience working as a client-facing Project Manager deploying and integrating commercial software solutions (3+ years)
2+ years' experience designing, building and deploying EMR interfaces utilizing current health IT interoperability standards and integration methods including HL7 messaging, C-CDA and direct integration using an integration appliance
2+ years' experience integrating third party application software with physician practice EMR software solutions such as Medent, EClinicalWorks, GE Centricity, athenahealth, Altera, Greenway
Planning and Organization - develops clear, coherent, compelling project plans and organizes key stakeholders to define and execute
Time Management - effectively manages time and priorities to complete most important assignments on time
Problem Solving - formulates workable, creative solutions and makes high quality decisions with limited time and data
BS degree in Computer Science, Healthcare or related field of study
Project Management Certification (Prince2 or PMP Certification)
