Responsibilities

Leading the engineering team in a Safety Excellence environment

Ensuring the development of team members
Communicating business goals to the team
Providing performance management to the team
Providing leadership and guidance for planning, engineering, design, and construction of all activities in the area
Monitoring and guiding area-wide Distribution functional budgets, compliance, and system maintenance to ensure reliability
Investigating extended or significant outages
Timely addressing customer issues that arise
Providing guidance to the team in dealing with customer issues (internal and external)
Communicating with upper management about customer issues
Working closely with the other functional departments in the area to deliver best in class, customer value, reliability and cost
Supporting external community activities
Serving in various SERP roles within the area
Participating in SERP events across the Southern System and events off system as required
Developing and executing the region wide maintenance and abnormal plan

Required

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Demonstrated ability to recognize high profile opportunities and respond as needed without prompting
Valid Driver's License
Travel is sometimes required, up to 25% of the time
Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance to Austell or Smyrna
Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience
Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application
Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred
Formal leadership experience is strongly preferred
Proven record of dealing effectively with customers is preferred
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Georgia Power Transmission and/or Distribution is preferred
Experience working as a Distribution Engineer is preferred
Knowledge of Power Delivery operations and processes preferred
Knowledge of Distribution operations practices and procedures preferred
Experience with storm response and planning is preferred
Experience with TCMS, ARCOS, JETS, CSS, ARMS, OFS, or DISTIEW is a plus
Cross-functional, cross-company experience is a plus
Experience managing capital and O&M budgets is a plus
