Accounting Manager.

The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, while leading the accounting team to drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies
Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, fixed assets, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable
Implement processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations
Oversee audits, including external audits and internal reviews, to ensure adherence to best practices
Collaborate with finance and leadership teams to develop budgets and financial forecasts
Monitor performance against budgets, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions
Drive automation and efficiency in accounting processes through the implementation of advanced financial systems
Ensure the accounting team effectively utilizes ERP systems and other financial tools
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Develop training programs to enhance skills and ensure adherence to accounting standards
Partner with the CFO and executive team to align accounting operations with corporate strategies
Support cross-departmental initiatives, such as procurement cost controls and inventory valuation strategies
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations, including sales and use taxes
Coordinate tax filings and work with external advisors on complex tax issues
Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them
Support the CFO in managing credit risks and financial exposure
Performs other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial compliance requirements
Familiarity with the wholesale distribution industry and inventory accounting practices
Five to eight years experience, some Public Accounting experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in financial systems, including ERP software (Infor EPM)
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Capacity to develop and implement effective accounting policies and procedures
Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights
Capacity to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs

Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and negotiation skills

10% - 15% travel may be required
