Senior Systems Safety Engineer - Clearance Required
Lockheed Martin Space is a pioneer in Strategic Weapon Systems and is looking for a Senior Systems Safety Engineer to contribute to the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) project. The role involves ensuring safety is integrated into hardware and software products while complying with safety requirements through various analyses and system evaluations.

Responsibilities
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Qualification
Required
Experience in System Safety Engineering processes as outlined in MIL-STD-882E with strong technical skills in performing hazard analyses, identifying safety requirements, developing fault trees, and recommending risk mitigation
The ability to read software code and/or prior experience working with software requirements validation and verification
Prior experience working with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or other Department of Defense (DOD) customers
Familiarity or experience with missile systems, ordnance, and software
Understanding of incident investigations and root cause and corrective actions
Familiar with Software Engineering processes and agile SW development methods
