In this role, you will lead the metallurgical laboratory and partner with material engineers to develop and support 3D printing processes for aerospace and defense applications.

Responsibilities

Metallurgical sample preparation, imaging, measurement, analysis and reporting for the metallurgical laboratory

Support the development of internal standards for materials produced by AM processes

Schedule workflow across metallurgical laboratory equipment and report performance metrics

Manage development programs contributing to improved materials for AM

Responsibility for metallurgical laboratory equipment, calibration records, overall cleanliness of the laboratory

Support/lead projects for parameter, heat treatment, material property development and continuous improvement

Mentor peers in the relevant areas of expertise; provide trainings when needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering, or industry experience commensurate with job responsibilities

12+ years of metallurgical experience in industry or research labs

Hands on experience with metals characterization techniques, including optical microscopy, SEM, and chemical analysis

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
