Early Intervention Service Coordinator

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of all North Carolinians. The Early Intervention Service Coordinator provides direct service coordination for children referred to the NC Infant-Toddler Program, working with families to develop Individualized Family Service Plans and conducting assessments to determine eligibility for services.

Health Care

Responsibilities

Provides direct service coordination for children referred to the NC Infant-Toddler Program
Serves as a member of the evaluation team that conducts child and family assessments for children 0-3 years to determine eligibility for the Infant-Toddler Program
Works with multi-disciplinary teams to determine families’ needs for supports and services
Conducts home visits
Works with families to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served
Bachelor's degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served
an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to drive and travel by car across the CDSA's defined catchment area

Preferred

Experience working with children in the age range 0 – 5 and their families, including children with developmental delays
Experience administering developmental evaluation measures
Demonstrated knowledge of young child development
Experience working with and collaborating with families, community organizations, and other agencies
Knowledge of coaching interaction styles and adult learning principles
