IT System Administrator/System Analyst

Responsibilities
Analyze, design, and implementing information systems that align with business needs
Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements
Implement/troubleshoot system and application issues
Ensure lab systems are developed / built and operate efficiently and effectively
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related area and normally possess 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst or in a similar role
Proven experience with systems analysis, design, and implementation
Proficiency in system analysis tools and methodologies
Proficiency to administer Linux and/or Windows servers
Familiarity in system analysis tools and methodologies
Perform software updates on servers per Lab Manager instructions and schedule
Maintain installed software with patches
Troubleshoot user reported issues effectively
Experience with SQL, databases, and Docker based systems
Familiarity with DevOps pipeline automation
Knowledge of programming languages such as Shell scripting, Python, or C#
Experience with configuration management using Git tools
Familiarity with cloud-based environments and multisite/network/storage operations
Experience with project management tools (e.g., Atlassian Suite, Confluence, JIRA, Microsoft Project)
Ability to provide user support across multiple labs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn new technologies
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into detailed technical requirements and specifications
Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions
Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft and Linux systems in complex environments
Develop detailed system designs, workflows, and data models to support business requirements
Coordinate and support the implementation of new systems or enhancements, including testing and troubleshooting
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system processes, configurations, and user guides
Develop and execute test plans to ensure systems function as intended and meet quality standards
Acts as a liaison between IT teams and business units to ensure clear communication and effective solutions
Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and user experience
Ensure systems adhere to compliance standards and security protocols. Assist in remediating security vulnerabilities
