Light Industrial - Warehouse Technician

Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Warehouse Technician to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves managing shipments, inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and shipping regulations.

Responsibilities

Make Stainless Steel tags on a weekly basis via a Trumark laser machine
Write procedures, updates when needed for the company with the help of the Warehouse Manager
Receives shipments
Reviews receiving shipment for obvious damage upon receipt
Documents visible damage take pictures and notes on freight carrier paperwork
Uncrates material, verifies material received is material ordered
Delivers all materials to appropriate warehouse shelf
Moves inventory to designated location
Receives and distributes all non-inventory items
Contacts freight carriers as needed
Performs daily maintenance as required
Ensures all US and foreign country requirements are met on all import shipments
Properly ships all products, supplier/customer returns or other material releases
Packages to the appropriate government and domestic levels
Verifies the accurate completion of shipment documents
Ensures that all container markings are properly applied
Selects and schedules freight lines for shipments
Ensures all US and foreign country requirements are met on all export shipments
Inputs receiving/shipping data into business system. Monitors material overages, shortages through deviation reports
Manages order files as pertains to shipping /receiving
Maintains inventory shelf and labels. Orders packaging supplies
Makes software CD’s
Performs warehouse cleaning on a daily basis
Assists with bi-annual inventory count
Performs tasks such as failure analysis and simple to moderate assembly and calibrations
Assists with phone/email support to customers
Follow and assure safety guidelines are being met and report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervision
Additional duties may be assigned as the business need arises

Required

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Twelve (12) months receiving, shipping or stores experience
Basic electrical knowledge i.e., should be able to read AC & DC Voltage, resistance, 4-20mA
Good Organizational skills
A good eye for detail
Communication skills via e-mail or phone to direct customers, both internal and external
Must obtain license certification that meets OSHA approval requirements for electric forklift operations
The ability to stand or move about for a minimum of 4 hours per day
One must be able to pull items from crates and to stock to shelves and the reverse for order fulfilment
Max lifting weight is 50 pounds
Box packing, squatting, bending completes the other requirements
