Responsibilities

Design and maintain logical and physical data architectures across CRM and marketing platforms and integrated customer data systems
Create data flow diagrams, integration maps, and system dependency documentation to support implementation and ongoing operations
Architect APIs, webhooks, and data synchronisation patterns across subscription, event, marketing, and customer service systems
Define integration standards, error handling, monitoring, and change management processes to ensure data reliability and consistency
Develop and implement governance logic to resolve data conflicts across business units and platforms
Define system-of-record and field-level ownership rules, precedence hierarchies, and data quality scoring mechanisms to maintain accurate customer records
Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including custom objects and relationships, to support complex business requirements
Optimize storage and query performance for growing subscriber, attendee, and account volumes
Establish deduplication strategies, record merge rules, and golden record logic for contacts, accounts, and households
Define criteria and processes to identify, consolidate, and monitor duplicate or fragmented records
Lead data architecture for platform migrations and consolidations (e.g., CDS into Salesforce, Zendesk to Service Cloud, future Data Cloud/CDP initiatives)
Oversee data mapping, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation from planning through execution
Define data quality standards and validation rules for inbound and outbound data flows
Establish controls, audits, and remediation processes to address issues such as missing email validation, inconsistent subscription status, or event data overwrites
Design architectures that scale across regions, brands, and business units while maintaining performance for marketing campaigns, reporting, and API-driven integrations
Partner with Engineering, BI/Analytics, Marketing, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and future Data Governance functions to translate business requirements into technical designs and to prioritize roadmaps
Communicate trade-offs and options in clear, business-friendly terms
Evaluate and recommend tools and patterns for customer data platforms, integration frameworks, and data management
Provide architectural input on initiatives involving Salesforce Data Cloud, CDP capabilities, or related MarTech investments

Required

7+ years of enterprise data architecture experience with a focus on customer data, CRM, and/or marketing technology ecosystems
Expert-level knowledge of CRM data models and synchronization patterns, preferably with Salesforce Sales Cloud; ability to design and document complex integrations across multiple platforms
Hands-on experience designing or supporting integrations for at least one major marketing or lifecycle platform (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable, HubSpot, Adobe Campaign, or equivalent)
Proven experience designing and implementing data integrations across 5+ enterprise platforms (such as CRM, ESP, subscription billing, event management, customer service, data warehouse)
Strong SQL proficiency and data modeling experience (conceptual, logical, and physical) for analytical and operational use cases
Demonstrated success in resolving cross-system data conflicts and implementing master data management or golden record solutions in multi-stakeholder environments
Experience leading large-scale data migration or consolidation projects, including planning, execution, and post-migration validation
Practical experience applying data quality frameworks and remediation methods (e.g., validation rules, profiling, cleansing, monitoring)
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with marketing, product, operations, and engineering teams

Preferred

Background supporting media, publishing, events, subscription, or membership-based business models
Experience with one or more of the following (or comparable tools): Piano or other subscription/paywall platforms; Recurly or other billing systems; CVENT or other event/registration systems; Zendesk or Service Cloud; Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery; Looker or similar BI tools
Familiarity with customer data platforms (e.g., Salesforce Data Cloud, Segment, mParticle, Tealium) and customer 360 concepts
Understanding of privacy and consent management principles (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and how they influence data architecture and integration design
Salesforce certifications related to data architecture, integration, or application architecture
Experience designing data models and semantic layers to support BI tools and self-service analytics
